The New York School of Homeopathy Diploma Program is a 3-year professional training course. Our program gives students a strong understanding of homeopathic philosophy coupled with a working knowledge of homeopathic methodology and its clinical application. The NYSH curriculum weaves the teachings of the early masters with the progressive ideas and clinical approaches of 21st-century homeopaths. Each class meets Saturday and Sunday from 1-6 pm via Zoom Conferencing, with a mid-session 20 minute break. See schedule.
The 3-Year Curriculum
The New York School of Homeopathy curriculum is designed to train confident and excellent practitioners of homeopathy who will apply their knowledge effectively and with enthusiasm. Self-directed study is an integral part of our program; challenging homework assignments prepare students for in-class presentations.

Year 1: The foundations of homeopathy
The first year introduces the foundations of homeopathic history, philosophy and application. Using the 5 principles of Classical Homeopathy, we explore the nature of disease and its cure.
Students begin with the practical application of homeopathy by hearing paper cases and observing videos of cured cases. State of the art homeopathic software will be demonstrated. We cover many remedies, including first-aid, acute, and chronic remedies. Students learn to work with the Repertory and discover how to solve basic cases.
Completion of the first year gives students a foundational knowledge of homeopathy and the tools to apply remedies in first-aid and acute situations. You will be prepared for the second year’s more intensive study of remedies in groupings, and for the clinic class.

Year 2: Deepening your grasp of homeopathy
The second year deepens the first-year studies with a more rigorous emphasis on the treatment and understanding of complex chronic diseases. During this year students gain a deep understanding of the practical philosophy behind homeopathy, along with extensive knowledge of chronic remedies, kingdoms, and groupings.
Intensive exposure to clinical cases through paper, video, and live cases enhances the learning process.
Using a unique method of teaching that emphasizes the grouping of remedies, we cover a broad spectrum of remedies. The innovative methods of contemporary masters, including Rajan Sankaran, Divya Chhabra, Jan Scholten, Massimo Mangialavori, and others are explored from this year forward.

Year 3: Strengthening your clinical abilities and preparing for private practice
Year 3 is a clinical and personal mentoring year, much like Year 2. In addition, during your 3rd year each student is supervised while creating a portfolio of their own privately taken cases. We help students prepare for the national certification application and exam, and guide them in setting up a homeopathic practice. Five supervised cases, a special graduation exam, and an independent project will be required to earn a diploma.Through exposure to live cases, you will gain the confidence needed to take cases on your own, under supervision, when deemed ready.

NYSH Student Clinic
At NYSH, the 2nd and 3rd years of school is mainly clinical experience. However, students begin their clinic observation in their 1st Year, when they sit in on one or two clinic classes that year.
When you officially join the NYSH clinic in your 3rd year, a new client is seen once a month on Saturday afternoon. Case taking involves a student homeopath and Susan Sonz the director, while the rest of the class observes and takes notes, without direct participation.
On Saturday evening, each student is expected to analyze the case, choose a remedy, and write up the case. Sunday afternoon is spent discussing the case and seeing follow-ups. Under the supervision of Susan Sonz, a consensus is reached and a remedy choice is made. The student homeopath who took the case, manages the case- again under supervision and with the help and support of the clinic class. Regular updates on each client are submitted via email, and discussion is encouraged as issues of remedy, potency and management arise.
Because many of our clinic clients have been coming to us for years, the NYSH clinic offers a unique opportunity for students to follow new and older clients for an extended period of time, and get hands-on experience with the real issues of case management.
Post Graduate Clinic (GAP)
After graduation from NYSH, we offer continuing education through the Graduate Apprentice Program (GAP Clinic). The GAP Clinic is an internship program that bridges the gap between graduation and private practice. Participation is by invitation only; the students who display special interest and ability in their three years of study are invited as interns to observe Susan Sonz take her own private cases, after which everyone is invited to discuss the remedy selection. Case management issues are discussed as the case develops and followups are observed. This is a special opportunity to continue to work with dedicated homeopaths, while you build your own private practice.
